Carmelita Mine Project

Notice of Public Hearing on Appeal

October 16, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at the Fresno County Ballroom, 2220 Tulare Street, Fresno, California

The Board of Supervisors will certify and make related findings on ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT REPORT NO. 6174 (State Clearinghouse No. 2010081 037) prepared for the project and approve UNCLASSIFIED CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT APPLICATION NO. 3287 filed by COLONY LAND GROUP LP to develop and reclaim an aggregate mine and related processing plant, concrete and asphalt plants, and a recycling plant on an 886 acre portion of a 1 ,500-acre site. The project proposes a maximum aggregate production rate of 1.25 million tons/year and an operating life of up to 100 years. The Project Site is generally located south of State Route 180, east of the Kings River and west of South Reed Avenue, approximately 15 miles east of the City of Fresno, six miles east of the City of Sanger, and five miles north of the City of Reedley in an unincorporated area of Fresno County, (Sup. District 5) Assessor Parcel Numbers 333- 130-43,333-130-44, 333-130-24S, 333-130-41,333-130-40,333-130-14,333-130-15, 333-130-17S, 333-130- 38, 333-090-0SS, 333-090-08S, 333-090-17S, 333-090-16S and 333-090-15S located in Sections 21, 22, 27, 28, 29 Township 14S Range 23E Mt. Diablo Baseline and Meridian.
